Now you probably wondering if Amy Flynn really taks sex with Simon.
Well, um yes and now.
You see Flynn, 16, of Knoxville, is a normal teen who is well grounded. You see, she has morals which others in Idol lack. So it’s a breath of fresh air to have someone like her.
Anyway, what’s so good about her is she gives talks to students about abstaining from sex.
And when you like… um… watch this video…. you get to hear what she says to um… like …. Simon. (Ok. I’m trying to sound like her now. )
Anyway, she’s got a good voice, and with strong morals, who knows how far she will go.
The only downside of Amy is that.. um.. like… she’s ANNOYING.
Oh well. Guess no is perfect!
Anyway, she sings “Reflection” by Christina Aguilera in this video clip from the “American Idol 7″ South Carolina auditions.

If you didn’t get to watch American Idol 7 this week, you probably woud have missed the crazy brother and sister couple. You see, Michelle and Jeffrey Lampkin, are crazy. And they take the South Carolina auditions by storm. You see, they sing that Celine Dion song “I’m you angel”.Now, I agree with Randy when it comes to these 2. I’m not totally convinced they have something to offer.
But you know what? Yep. That other “dude” thinks they aren’t as bad as we make them out to be.
Anyway, you think they will go any further?
I’m thinking they have used all their luck.
Anyway, if you missed this episode, you can always find and download it here.

Day 2 in Charleston began on a rough note as United States Air Force pilot, Lyndsey Goodman steps up to audition. She is as sweet as they come, but her nerves got the best of her when she sang, “Black Velvet”. Simon tells her she is cute but too cabaret for the competition. I think the judges should have given her a chance. Seems they were a little too harsh on the girl.
Aretha Codner knows she is a great singer and came to American Idol to show off her stuff. Named after the singing legend Aretha Franklin, Aretha is a curvaceous, confident woman with tons of style. When she walks in it is clear that Simon is snickering over her large chest and choice of outfit.
She sings the Whitney Houston’s classic, “I Have Nothing” to the best of her ability but it falls short as she is off pitch and changes keys every time she hits her upper range. Simon tells her that her robin’s-egg blue dress and chunky silver belt are “horrible” but Aretha begs to differ. The judges have to pass but Aretha hangs in and defends herself. Asking for just one more chance, Simon gives her a final dismissal out the door.
If the judges thought the first two were bad, Joshua Boson was born without a chance! Decked in hot red pants, Joshua attempts to belt out Jennifer Hudson’s “You’re Gonna Love Me” but comes across as a squealing maniac.
Think of Tarzan calling all the animals to a jungle meeting, folks. Yes. That bad!
Simon calls him “rude and deluded” but all Joshua can muster up are comments that the show is fake and rigged. He leaves the audition room before the judges have time to finish their critiques. Back outside, he tells Ryan that the judges suck and later announces that his talent is “too big” for the competition to hold. He thinks he is going to be the world idol. Umm… Don’t think so, buddy!
Remember Oliver Highman from Day 1? Well he finally made it back to the auditions except this time he is a proud poppa to a beautiful baby girl, Emma Grace. He sings “Get Here” which Simon calls “corny and old fashioned”. Not even Randy’s remarks about his overabundant vibrato can keep Oliver from smiling though. He’s not headed for Hollywood but he could really care less. The judges get a glimpse of his precious daughter and congratulate the family before they go.
American Idol wasn’t so lucky in Charleston, only rounding up 23 hopefuls over all. Next week they travel to Omaha, Nebraska as the search continues.

Tonight, the American Idol auditions kicked off in Charleston, South Carolina.
Oliver Highman would have been the first to audition but when he got the call that his wife was going into labor, he had to hurry to be by her side.
Ray Henderson, known as “the black Clay Aiken” to his friends had Randy laughing in hysterics at his very dramatic rendition of “I Can’t Make You Love Me”. Simon said he wouldn’t be surprised if he did a magic trick in the middle of the song and compared his theatrics to a 1970s cruise ship cabaret.
DeAnna Prevatte, better known as the waitress who doesn’t know when to quit talking, comes from the same town as Kelly Pickler. She is as bitchy as they come, landing herself a first class ticket back home.
Next up, we meet the ever-so-nerdy couple, Crystal Ortiz and Randy Stark. The two met over the American Idol message boards and Randy lovingly confessed that they “first met right over there by that trash can”…
How romantic!
Singing, “She’s More”, Randy sounds strangely like Cher and needs help with the lyrics mid-song. The pair begin singing in duet fashion until Simon cuts them off and tells them that it was “complete torture”.
Siblings, Michelle and Jeffery Lampkin came into the audition room with real pizzazz. Jeffery proclaims that American Idol talent has, “gotta have that OW [snaps] factor” and he and his sister have just what it takes. In the audition room, Jeffery wears a tie sideways on his head with hot pink for Paula, his outfit dedicated to Randy and dogtags around his neck for Simon. The judges like them enough to send them both to Hollywood.
Next, the camera catches up with Oliver Highman again who is on the road and lost on his way to the hospital.
Sixteen year old, Amy Flynn is everybody’s worst Valley Girl nightmare. She is a cheerleader who teaches teens about sex, drugs and alcohol. She gives the judges a speech straight out of the movie Clueless before she begins singing Christina Aguilera’s “Reflection”. Surprisingly the girl can sing although Simon calls her annoying and for the third time this season, uses his favorite new phrase, “I don’t think you are as good as you think you are.” Amy manages to win Randy and Paula over and they send her to Hollywood.
Naturally, the camera checks in with Oliver once more who has found his way to the hospital as he awaits the birth of his first child.
Day 1 in Charleston ended on a nice note as the gorgeous blonde, London Weidberg took center stage. She is a full time musician who lost her father to cancer. She sings Billie Holiday’s “Good Morning Heartache” beautifully. Although Simon loves her name, he is not so impressed with her vocals. Paula and Randy come to the rescue again and give her the okay to Hollywood.
Only 15 people made the cut, hang in for a recap of Day 2 coming up next!

Day two in sunny San Diego certainly had its share of ups and downs.
Blake Boshnack returned to American Idol after being rejected in previous years many, many times. He admitted to the camera that he has auditioned in at least 10 different cities since the start of season 3. Now that is determination! His mother is a self-proclaimed Idol fanatic with strong hopes that her son is going to become the next American Idol. You may remember Blake from his season 5 audition where he showed up dressed as the statue of liberty.
Yup. He’s back.
Mr. Boshnack cleaned up this time around and sang a rendition of “Stand By Me”. I thought it was very good but the judges were not so enthused. He didn’t really seem as energetic as he probably should have been but I really think the judges were harsh on Blake. They should have just sent him to Hollywood to at least humor him a little bit. Poor guy!
Next, a girl named Sarah attempts to sing but all her efforts go down the drain as she is compared to the painful William Hung.
Then we met Alberto Hurtado, the ultra sensitive spiritual guru. He tells us that singing is the ultimate revealing of his soul and that he tends to get lost in his own imagination. His hair is long, wavy and black, his nails are freakishly overgrown, he wears a dress shirt with a gold eagle on it and a red heart attached to his sleeve. He begins his audition by flinging his hair back and singing in a soft but dramatic tone about tragedy.
Simon calls it overwhelmingly depressing and tells him he is the equivalent of a storm cloud on a sunny day. Ouch. Alberto hands the fan he is toting around to Paula and exits with three resounding “no’s” from the judges.
On a much better note, John, a 16 year old suffering from vocal paralysis auditioned and completely blew me away. He sang John Mayer’s “Waiting On The World To Change” and while it was a bit breathy in between phrases, he was nothing short of amazing. The judges all loved him and sent him right through to Hollywood. Keep an eye on this kid!
Finally, Carly Smithson had made it to Hollywood back in season 5 but her dreams were crushed when she heard the news that she was still waiting on her visa. She was automatically disqualified from the competition and it took her a really long time to get over it. This year, Carly is back with “I’m Every Woman”, she sang it well even though it was a bit overdone and a tad slow. Simon confesses that she sounded better two years ago but Carly still manages to snag a second chance in Hollywood.
All in all, San Diego produced 30 more American Idol hopefuls. Stay tuned for tomorrow’s audition recaps as we head one more step closer to crowning the next champ.

American Idol returned tonight for another round of auditions in San Diego, California. The question on everyone’s mind though was, “Can anybody top Reynaldo?”, everybody’s favorite ‘brother’ from the Dallas auditions. Tonight seemed a lot less theatrical than previous audition shows but hardly boring!
First up, Tetiana O-something-er-other. I didn’t quite catch her name in time but I can tell you it was long and hard to spell! Anyway, she sang “Someone To Watch Over Me” and I thought she had a very pretty voice. Seems like Simon’s new catchphrase this season is, “you’re not as good as you think you are” because he used it again tonight to let Tetiana know that he doesn’t “think you’re ever going to be great.” The blonde wants to prove Simon wrong and is the first to make it through to Hollywood.
Perrie Cataldo, the 27 year old single father from Arizona moved us all when he explained his story. He is raising his son alone after the death of the boy’s mother. Perrie wants to become the American Idol to better provide for his son. It was heartfelt and genuine and he definitely won me over. It all boiled down to the audition room and Perrie knocked it out of the park with Boyz II Men’s “I’ll Make Love To You.” The judges love him. I love him. His son loves him. It’s unanimous! Three yesses to Hollywood for Mr. Cataldo!
Next, we met Michael Johns, the 28 year old dubbed the “white soul singer” by Simon. The judges approve and Michael gets his golden ticket to the next round.
You didn’t think everyone would get the green light, did you? Of course not. Christopher Mitchell needed to tone it down a few hundred notches. I’m surprised my ears weren’t bleeding after hearing his high-pitched wails. Randy had the right idea, bursting out in laughter throughout the entire audition.
And then there was Valerie Reyes. Yikes. This 20 year old loves Mariah Carey with every fiber of her being. Anybody remember the last girl who auditioned and had an unhealthy Mariah obsession? She stunk too. I give Valerie some credit, she had some potential but her grunting and musical hiccups at the end of her phrases didn’t sound too hot. Simon compared her to a Mariah Carey CD left out in the sun too long and Paula agrees.
Cut to Joseph and Juanita, a man dressed as Speedy Gonzales and a woman dressed as a mime performing “Get Here” on the same stage. Do you really need more explanation than that?
Who can forget Miss Monique Gibson and her friend Christopher Baker? The two that just wouldn’t quit singing! Monique’s audition started off shaky when Simon joked about her clothes. It just got worse when Whitney Houston’s “I Believe In Miracles” changed into a different song and then back again. She sounded terrible and you can guess what happened from there.
Then it was Christopher’s turn to impress the judges. He is loud and off pitch and despite the judges ordering him to stop he just will not listen. This was no surprise. His ears must have hearing troubles because he couldn’t hear how bad he sounded.
Day one ends with Samantha Musa who thinks Simon is ultra sexy. She and her sister have the hots for everybody’s favorite judge and all Samantha wants is a big ole Simon hug. The audition begins as Samantha’s sister manages to sneak her way in via a paper airplane message to Simon. She winds up sitting on his lap as Samantha blows us out of the water with her amazing voice. She receives a yes from all ‘four’ judges and lands herself a group hug with Simon before she goes.
Stay tuned to this blog for coverage of day 2 in San Diego coming up soon!

Now you probably have heard the rumors hear late last year, Paula Abdul, our wonderful American Idol judge, had a song coming out. And you may have read here, she was trying to make a comeback.
Well, this is all true.
You see, on Ryan Seacrest’s KIIS-FM radio show, he interviewed Paula Abdul, and Randy Jackson over Paula’s new song ” Dance Like There’s No Tomorrow”.
So you probably wondering why Randy Jackson was their to help Paula promote her new single?
Well, the single is gonna appear on Randy’s new album called, Randy Jackson’s Music Club, Vol. 1.
BTW. If you’re wondering when Paula last released a single, it was way back in 1993. (And if you know what it was, you’ll wanna leave a comment below)
Anyway, Randy Jackson’s album has some pretty big names on it. Like Joss Stone. And Mariah Carey. And one of our favorites, Richie Sambora.
Now if you wanna hear a sample of Paula’s song, you’ll find it here.

Ok. I gotta say Simon knows a good voice from a great voice. But to say, Kady Malloy, has the best voice so far, is something I’m not sure of.
You see, if you didn’t catch Kady Malloy’s audition, then you’ll wanna check out this video. And the reason why is because she does some “good” impersonating.
…. Of Brittany and stuff.
Now, if they were looking for impersonators, I think they would call the show “American Impersonators” or something. And Kady would make it into the top 2 without a doubt.
But American Idol is about talent.
So when Kady had to be stopped mid way through her audition so we could hear “her”, I think they should have given her the flick.
Anyway, she does have an amazing voice. I’m just worried it’s “Brittany’s” or “Shakira’s”.
Anyway, do you think Kady Malloy has the “best voice” so far this season. Or do you think she has the best “impersonating voice” this season.
Feel free to comment below.

Day 2 in Dallas gets off on a sour note (or two!) when we meet the oh-so-nerdy Douglas Davidson. We first see him before he auditions where he tells us the charming story of how his father hates him for singing.
Aww, poor guy!!
It wasn’t until he met up with the judges in the audition room that we soon realized what a quack this kid is. Turning around to warm up first, a rule he learned from Christina Aguilera and does not take lightly, Douglas finishes up and butchers the Bon Jovi classic, “Livin’ On a Prayer”. Not only does he mess up the lyrics, he sounds like an out-of-breath robot, shouting to get through an asthma attack. He sweats so much that he insists on taking a water break, circling around and warming back up. Refusing to listen to the judges, the thickheaded idiot continues singing until security finally comes in to save the day.
Can we say… PSYCHO?
Next up, the airheaded Angela Riley with the help of Chad, her professional model husband. She is over the top and incredibly annoying.
Future political hopeful, Kyle Ensley used American Idol as some kind of campaign. The 21 year old tapped his feet and sang Queen’s “Somebody to Love” way off pitch. His singing was very slow and left me feeling a bit seasick. Simon actually said yes and Paula figured it couldn’t hurt by letting him through.
Get ready for the meak, the bleak and the boring… introducing Tammy Tuzinski! This girl was as awkward as they come. Maybe it’s because she’s from another planet? I can’t really say. What I do know is that for a huge Celine Dion fan, you might think she would know the difference between “Power of Love” and “If You Asked Me To”. She sounded strangely like Aaron Neville. Odd.
What? You don’t believe me? Well, hear it for yourself.
Breaking the show up was a montage of crossdressers who came out and auditioned. From the guy-girl who wanted to prove to the judges that he can be versatile as both a man AND a woman, to the guy in the dress who looked like Betty Rubble and Wilma Flintstone’s illegitimate child.
Just when you think the auditions just can’t get any worse they always do. Meet Kyle, a scary rock-obsessed weirdo wearing “guyliner”. His look came straight out of an 80s music video nightmare. He sang Kelly Clarkson’s “Never Again” with so much intensity that he even frightened Simon.
Nina Shaw certainly looked the part of American Idol but the judges weren’t quite sure about her talent. She sang Whitney Houston’s “Run To You” and it was good enough for Randy and Paula.
Day 2 in Dallas ended on a bit of a crazy note when Renaldo Lapuz showed up in a shining white pimp outfit complete with metallic silver cape. Renaldo performed an original song, “We’re Brothers Forever” that turned into a terrible mess and he can only be compared to a more theatrical version of Enrique Iglesias (as hard as that may be to imagine).
I guess you gotta see it to believe it.
There were no problems in the confidence department with this wacko who sang one verse over and over with total conviction. Mimicking his ridiculous antics, Randy and Paula raised up out of their seats to join in. As the madness continued, Randy decided to pull Ryan in to see it. After hearing the same verse so many times, Randy and Ryan sang along as Paula played cheerleader. Simon gave Renaldo a hug for all his efforts and even though he failed to make the cut, he remained optimistic.
Only 24 people from Dallas made it to Hollywood.
The auditions will continue as American Idol heads out to San Diego, California.
