Day 2 in Miami started off on a nice note and you guessed it, things became tragically worse by the end of the day.
Syesha Mercado is a beautiful, positive young lady whose father has struggled with drugs and alcohol throughout her life. She is an actress and singer and I think we all better watch out for her because she can really belt it out! The judges like her and send her right on through.
Things begin heading in the wrong direction when Richard Valles brutally murders Rascall Flatts’s “God Blessed The Broken Road”. Were you cringing the way I was throughout this performance? Randy laughed the whole way through and mocked Richard’s completely nasally sound once he finished up. Sorry Richard, you really suck.
Things continue to get worse when Julie Dubella, the 16 year-old former American Juniors finalist tries her hand at American Idol. Umm… like.. Julie is another one of those annoying valley girls that like, you just want to smack with like, your hand or something, you know what I mean? Her voice sounded way better at 12 years old than it does now. Simon calls her precocious and tells her to get into acting. She like, just can NOT believe that the judges do not like her voice, OMG! She tries to argue about her talents but this chick needs a strong dose of reality.
You thought it couldn’t get any worse than that, right? But you know how this works by now. It always gets worse.
Introducing….. Brandon Black and his many creepy personalities! He comes flying through the doors of the audition clad in a white pimp suit, yelling at some weird alter ego or something. Who really can say? He pulls off a wig and speaks in strange cartoonish voices then proposes to the judges that he is going to sing Boyz II Men’s “I’ll Make Love To You” first.
First? You only get one chance buddy and you’re already on everybody’s nerves! Anyway, to overshadow his terrible singing, Brandon peels off clothes and does a nasty dance during his song. He moves into his next song, an original entitled, “I Am The Next American Idol”. The judges tell him he sucks - BADLY - but Brandon is oblivious asking if he can finish his performance first. Randy and Simon get the right idea and walk right out of the room.
Next week’s Idol auditions are coming straight from Atlanta, Georgia. Maybe there will be some real talent there? Stay tuned to this blog to find out!
