Tonight American Idol headed to Omaha, Nebraska where there was clearly an abundance of cornfields as well as Idol hopefuls.
Chris “gonna explode and happiness is gonna go flying everywhere” Bernheisel was first up to audition tonight in front of Randy and Simon. Paula’s plane was delayed so she wasn’t around to receive her portion of the gifts that Chris brought for the judges. Well despite his sweet talk and bribes, Chris’s version of “Since You’ve Been Gone” came out on the incredibly nasally side of things. His choreographed “pee-pee dance” and handstand during the performance didn’t really help either. But since he’s such a nice guy, Simon tells Chris that he will be able to report the Idol finale to his local Fox station. Look out Omaha!
Ahh. I guess you just gotta watch it.
Twenty-one year old, Jason Rich made it to Hollywood after a rocky audition. He starts and stops, forgetting the lyrics until he finally bursts out into “When You Say Nothing At All”, singing it loud and proud. He makes it to Hollywood but needs some serious work on his nerves.
Paula finally makes it to the auditions just in time for Rachael Wicker, the 6-time arm wrestling champion to give it a go. She makes it through despite Randy’s comments about her half-yodeling the lyrics to “Don’t Tell Me To Stop Loving You”.
Ready for things to get weird?
Sarah Whitaker is sure to become a famous face after tonight. The former professional wrestler is a bulky goth chick who still goes by her old moniker, Lady Morgue. Outside of the audition room, the freakishly scary Sarah fought with Ryan and bellowed her trademark evil laugh. Then it was her turn to audition… cue the dark music… er…
Wait? She’s singing about being happy?! Lady Morgue really knew how to pick the worst song for her image! Her high-pitched wails about jolly-ness coupled with her white face paint and long, black shiny jacket were enough for Simon to dismiss her as very, very strange.
