Tonight was 80s night on American Idol for the top 8 guys.

Luke Menard should really just get a clue and get gone already. He actually went with Wham!’s “Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go” which was just as bad as the original. This guy has absolutely no radio-quality whatsoever. He scooped up to one high note that just made me cringe. Randy said he was ahead of the song’s timing in parts and it was corny but alright. Paula was surprised that he chose that song and wondered why he didn’t come out in those legendary George Michael short shorts.

David Archuleta did yet another great job tonight with “Another Day in Paradise”. He played piano for the first half of the song which was awesome to see. Randy said it was an interesting song choice that didn’t show off all his vocals but it was nice. Paula calls him perfect. And Simon said he wasn’t as good as last week. Then he warned David to stay away from performing too many gloomy songs.

Danny Noriega keeps getting more annoying every week. I liked him at first but my opinion has slowly been changing each week (if you haven’t already noticed). His version of “Tainted Love” was a combination of rock and androgyny. Simon called it “completely useless” and hated it all. I can’t say I disagree. The judges were yacking away when Paula mentioned something totally off-subject about chicken wings. Seriously, what is she smoking?

I’m sure you’ve all heard the news by now that David Hernandez used to be a stripper in a gay club. Does anybody really find that surprising? The Idol folks say they are not going to disqualify him which doesn’t make much sense seeing as how others have been booted out before for having similar pasts.

Despite all that, David did a really dramatic performance of “It’s All Coming Back To Me” and all I could really think about was whether or not the song was a tribute to his stripper days. Paula made a few comments that I construed as a dig at the whole situation, “I feel like you’re getting into your groove here” and “you’re a really good performer”. Well naturally somebody who used to strip knows how to put on a good show!!

If you missed tonights American Idol episode, you probably wanna know what happened to Ramiele Maluby.You see, she sang really well last week. And Simon thinks she’s in the top 3 or something.But tonight, she didn’t cut the mustard.I don’t know about you, but I’m with the judges on this one…. I didn’t feel the love.Anyway, I think she’s got a good voice. And hope she can do better than tonight. Now, before I forget, here is where you can watch her performance;

As you probably know, last week we saw the top 24 sing some tunes from ol times.

… Like the boys sing Walk in the room, and the girls: Spanish Harlem.

Now, I wasn’t too happy with the songs they chose, but watched it.

If you watched the Superbowl yesterday, you probably thought you were watching a special edition of American Idol or something.

You see, there were 3 main stars which featured in it.

First of all there was our man, Ryan Seacrest. You see, he was running around the red carpet as if he was playing ball or something. Anyway, the best moment has to be when the Hollywood celebrities attending the game, walked up the red carpet.

Anyway, have a look at this video;

You see, another idol performed at the Suprbowl. Ok. Maybe not performed.

… But she did sing the National anthem.

Yeah, the winner of American Idol 2007 sang the National Anthem before the game. And when you watch the video, you see who she is going for. (I guess if you know Jordin, you know she was always gonna go for them)

Now that wasn’t the end of it.

You see, our own Paula Abdul and Randy on Guitar, performed her new single, Dance Like There’s No Tomorrow.

Anyway, it was a big day for American Idol. But I think instead of calling it the Superbowl, they should rename it the SuperIdol or something.

I wonder what those hardcore NFL football supporters would think of that?

Hmmmmm.

Now when it comes to freaks, Sarah is up there with the best of them.

You see, Sarah is 25, and from Council Bluffs, Iowa. Now that’s nothing to hold against her.

But she is a freak. Well, actually she’s a freakin’ freak. (Ok. Sarah if you are reading this, I’m only joking! )

You see, Sarah used to be a professional goth wrestler. And One of our spies says she used to wrestle under the name… wait for it…

… Lady Morgue or something.

Anyway, the reason I want you to watch this is because she kinds of scares me. First. Because she’s 10 times bigger than Ryan. Now that doesn’t mean much. But when you hear her laugh, you’ll know why she freaks me out more.

As you probably know, she didn’t get through. And if you watch Randy’s face, I think he looks a bit intimidated.

As you know, there were crop circles at the start of American Idol tonight.

… Ok. Maybe not crop circles. But the American Idol logo in a field in Omaha, Nebraska.

You see, Micheal Johns auditioned for American Idol and he did alright.

Now, his style of music maybe a little different for a guy from Oz. And the reason I say it, is because Johns is a white singing “soul” guy.

As you will find out, I don’t think he’s a one trick pony.

As you probably know, American Idol 7 was gonna delve into the more personal side of the contestants. And see how they tick and what really inspired them to go for the auditions.Anyway, here’s one of those feel good stories. You see, London Weidberg, gave up her musical dream when her father became ill and died from cancer, like three years ago.Now, most people would give up their dreams and take the easy way out.

But not Weidberg.

You see, she has gone out and tried to forge a way back into something she loves. As you will see, her commitment to pursue her dreams is something which the producers would love to show.

And for us it’s absolutely inspiring. Now youmay be wondering whether she got a “yes” on her singing ability or on her story. Well, when you watch this video, you decide.

But I think she got in with her absolute talent.

Great work London! Anyway, she sings the song “Good Morning Heartache” by Billie Holliday.

Ahhh. This guy can SING!

… NOT!!

You see, Joshua Boson, rolled up for the South Carolina auditions. And I guess he thought he could sing or something. You see, no offence to Josh, but this has got to be the worst performance of the night.

But it all goes down hill when he tells the judges they are hopeless.

I mean seriously. When you blame others for your lack of voice, it turns ugly fast!

Anway, the judges suck sometimes, but do they really get ths one wrong? Do you think the judges really suck?

Hmmm, Josh. I think YOU suck!
